The premises are owned by the City of Edinburgh Council and are
operated on it's behalf by a voluntary Management Committee.

The community is in transition due to redevelopment.
The residents were previously elderly people but this has changed recently. Most
housing is tenement flats, owner occupied or housing association run. There are
also large numbers of students during
term times.
